Arrival day : Arrive on a Friday

Departure day : the following Friday

Duration : 8 days with 7 nights accommodation

Available Option : Additional days can be added to the end of the tour. We will be glad to assist you in securing accommodations and obtaining tickets to events such as the Edinburgh International Festival and Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Day 1:

Arrival at Glasgow airport. Times to be confirmed.

Your tour hosts, Lord Charles and Nannette Payne, along with Jim Connor of IBT, will meet your party on arrival. You will board the coach and transfer to the beautiful town of Ayr where you will spend 7 nights at the Fairfield Inn.


Arrive at the hotel at noon. Afternoon free to explore. Welcome reception at Cassillis Castle in the evening featuring the Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra and the Carrick 800 re-enactment of Smugglers vs Excise Men during the time of Robert Burns.


Day 2:

A trip to Stranraer visiting Castle Kennedy (shown below), Ballantrae and Girvan.


Day 3:

A day in Edinburgh visiting the sites and enjoying the Pipefest 2005 (12-20,000 Pipers in Hollyrood Park).

Day 4:

Morning Burns cottage & Heritage centre with an evening Burns Dinner. Afternoon a trip on the Paddle Steamer Waverley to Girvan via Ailsa Craig.

 

Day 5:

Morning tour of Dunure with Seafood lunch afternoon and evening free to explore Ayr.

 

Day 6:

A day on the Island of Arran visiting Brodick Castle and a Arran Brewery, the Standing Stones on Machrie moor and Scotland's newest Distillery.

Day 7:

Morning visit to a Pipebag making Factory. Late afternoon Tour, Champagne Reception and Formal Dinner in the dinning room at Culzean Castle. Entertainment and dancing provided by the Maybole Pipeband /Ayr Fiddlers.

 

Day 8:

After breakfast check out of the hotel and transfer back to Edinburgh airport for return flights to USA.

Optional 2 nights in Edinburgh to enjoy the Art Festival and spend the last night at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Fairfield Inn, Ayr

This modern 4 star hotel is situated in the centre of Ayr offering views of the Isle of Arran and the Mull of Kintyre. The central location ensures plenty of choices for eating out in one of Ayr’s many quality restaurants or you could simply relax in the hotel’s own Fleur De Lys Restaurant. The hotel enjoys an ideal location for golfers with 22 quality golf courses within a 20-mile radius.

Ground Transportation:

IBT’s luxury coaches are of the highest quality with a restroom facility, complimentary hot and cold drinks available, luxury seating with tables, PA system, air conditioning and many golf accessories on board. Our drivers are highly trained and knowledgeable about golf in Scotland.



Pricing:


Price is based on 2 people sharing on a B&B basis, 7 Scottish Breakfasts, 2 Receptions, 1 Seafood Lunch and a Burns Night. Price includes taxes, tips, transportation, entry fees to stated sites, welcome cocktail plus other surprises.

Price £1325/person for 7 day tour. Group Discount given on parties of 4 or more. Price for optional 2 nights in Edinburgh upon request.

We will make all attempts to secure you a roommate. Otherwise, Single Supplement is in addition to price quoted above.
