Tour Kennedy Castles in Bloom & Ayrshire: |
- Culzean Castle, A storybook castle, with
its dramatic location on a cliff and incredible views accross the Island
of Arran. Culzean is known as the "Jewel" of the National Trust for
Scotland. Stroll through their magnificent formal gardens as well as the
fountain court gardens. Culzean Castle was the birthplace of Lord Charles
Kennedy
- We will be honoured with an afternoon
reception at Cassillis Castle hosted by the Marchoiness of Ailsa, Lady
Mary, the Mother of the Clan Kennedy and Marquess of Ailsa, Lord Charles
Kennedy, followed by a tour of Cassillis Castle.
- "Perched on a craggy cliff top knoll
stands the rubble ruin of Dunure Castle" This Castle is the ancient seat
of the Kennedys of Carrick. Lunch will be served at the Anchorage
restaurant.
- Crossraguel Abbey founded in the early
13th century by the Earl of Carrick. Over the next three centuries it was
often rebuilt. The remains are remarkably complete and of a very high
quality.
- See Maybole Castle, another Kennedy
Castle, which resides in the heart of Maybole and also the quaint town of
Ayr.

| All About Robert Burns: |
- Burns Cottage where Robert Burns was born. Burns
Cottage has been restored to its original condition, a typical farmhouse
of the 1700's.
- Souter Johnnie's Cottage. The inspiration for the
character Souter Johnnie, in Robert Burns poem "Tam O'Shanter". Based on
John Davidson, the real-life souter (shoemaker) who lived and worked in
this cottage.
- Visit the famous Birg O'Doon bridge. Brig O'Doon was
chosen by Burns for the climax of his tale, Tam O'Shanter.
